“I want to meet someone who’s as smart as God,” Dad told me recently.
He had been telling me some of the story of when he was a teen and fought against God, fought hard, hating Him. “I was dead set against it,” he said. There was admiration in his eyes. “But He knew just how to get me in the place where I would give up and give my life to Him.
“He has a plan and knows how to work things so they turn out just exactly as He wants them to.”
As we enter 2017, this thought gives me courage. These words by songwriter Ira Stanphill have been running through my mind:
Many things about tomorrow
I don’t seem to understand
But I know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds my hand
Happy New Year, Luci. I thought I had subscribed to your blog, but apparently not.
About your post today, I can hear the melody as I read the words to this old, old song. Thanks for the reminder; much about the new year seems overwhelming to me right now. Happy New Year to you!
Marian, it is good to hear from you. I miss you when I don’t for a while. Saying a prayer for your new year…God’s got it covered.
