LOVE!! I’ve been feeling a little scrooge-ish this year and wanted so badly to keep things simple. But then I start to buy….and try to make all things fair and even in the gift piles….and I catch a part of the joy and can’t wait to spread it.
Piles of shining presents are a little less controversial than not maintaining Mennoniteness, eh? I applaud your honesty and the depth of your thought process and your bravery in your last post. I totally “got it”. Thank you, dear girl. (I went to comment on it, but got so lost in reading the comments that I just moved on.)

I smile as I read for I too remember those piles of presents through the eyes of a child as your sister and I looked on discussing who was/may be getting what. We too have picked up the Dollar Tree tradition with our girls and its the high light of the year!
