Thank you! I am realizing that maybe my specialty is emotion… living it, feeling it, describing it…so this resonates with me in an encouraging way.

I think I enjoy some of those “ghosts.” But my old rocking chair comes from my great grandmother who likely sat in it and prayed, so that is a good ghost. šŸ˜

We don’t have time for “home and hearth”anymore,to busy going, going, going! I just came from a couple day, natural health options vrs conventional seminar where Christian Doctors, dentist, nurses from all over the country spoke and how it was brought out time and again that we are creating atmospheres that breed ADHD,ASD,STARTLE RESPONSE ect. ect.and the stability and security it provides in children when family gather in the kitchen to work together, and around the table for regular scheduled mealtimes. And they also brought out the importance of the spiritual side of our lives and the effect it has on our health when we don’t forgive, hang on to bitterness, ect. We do well to make our homes a haven of peace, rest and joy!

I think many of us store up things. Precious memories often. But, they are not our true treasures. They don’t follow us when we leave this earth. Our actions with others tend to create blessings or regrets. Thanks much for sharing. I hope you’ll be able to comp l eternity the work of sorting out soon.😊

Thanks for respecting someone else’s treasures even when most ppl would have just tossed them out. I really enjoy your articles! You have such a talent for putting into words the deepest feelings of our hearts! God bless you!

I bought a rocking chair 40 years ago at a junky old furniture store. This was not a clean organized shop. This Mission Oak style chair had a cushion with sprung springs, filthy with dust. Warm Tiger Oak. The price was $35.00. My husband fussed all the way home about possible bedbugs, insisting this old chair does not come into the house until washed up and cushion removed. I thought about the former ā€œsittersā€ in the chair. A mother rocking a sick child? A grandpa, widowed for many years, who needed a shave and a haircut. I picture him sitting alone and lonely? I always think of sad events for this chair. I decided I would never buy any more used furniture again as the ā€œghostsā€ of the former owners of this rocker have rented a space in my mind for free.
