Next Stop, Boston

No, Boston wasn’t actually the next stop on our China tour. I have more memories of our trip to record and more of Chad’s beautiful photos to share and will continue that saga next week. This is just a news flash, a short interruption to tell you all that I will be moving to Boston, Massachusetts, this fall to attend college.

At Boston Public Library

I have you, my blog readers, to thank for this. I was telling you about the online classes I was taking and my desire for more learning in the future, and one of youā€”Twila, it wasā€”told me about the new college opening in Boston: Sattler College. A few others added encouragement.

Thank you. I love how much my blog readers have become a part of my life, weighing in on major decisions. You all helped me decide to switch from PC to Mac, after all. ;)

At Boston Public Library

Boston is beautiful, a city stately and historical.

Old South Church on Copley Square

I attended the admitted students weekend there to find out more about the college and to determine if it was really what I wanted for the next stage of my life. The weekend was difficult for me, for reasons that were completely personal and had nothing to do with Boston or the college or the kind and helpful people I met.

In Old South Church

God was with me, though. He always is. More and more, He is becoming my best friend. Because of him, I was able to handle and even enjoy what could have been a miserable weekend.

In the Granary Burying Ground, we searched for and located the tombstones of Samuel Adams, John Hancock, and Paul Revere.
We took an evening cruise on Boston Harbor…
…and enjoyed dinner there on the ship.

Sometime I will tell you more about the reasons I’ve chosen to attend Sattler, about the strengths of this college and the vision of its founder and the ways I believe I will be helped by attendingā€”ways that reach not only into my head but into my heart.

For now, if you are interested in learning more, visit the college website at sattlercollege.org.

  1. I can’t wait to hear more. I love Satler’s vision and when I heard you were considering attending there – I wanted to shout. I look forward to traveling with you to Boston through your stories.

And I’m also loving your China series. What an amazing experience.

    1. Gina, you will definitely hear about Boston and also about some of the things I learn at Sattler which I think will interest people. So glad you are enjoying the China series!

I am so happy for your! You are a scholar at heart and attending college will be a wonderful experience along life’s faith journey. I wish you the very best!

  3. If it were twenty years ago, i’d be going with you. šŸ˜Š I know a little about this place because a friend from our church will also be in this first class. Many blessings!

Thank you! Who is your friend? I may have met them at the open house. Because the first class is so small, we will all get to know each other well.

  4. This is so awesome Luci! I had no idea you had applied. I am very interested to see where this school will go and am increibly excited for you!! Huzzah! :)
