The first book I published and so much fun to write. This book explores what it’s like to grow up as an oversensitive little Mennonite girl in the backside of Wisconsin. I have had so many people, from both genders and from quite a variety of backgrounds, tell me after reading this book that they are a lot like me. Finding that I am not alone in the world is one of the reasons I write.

Parents who read this book to their young children often tell me it’s one of their children’s favorite stories. “My little boy knows the arrowhead story by heart,” one mom told me.

Fun fact: The grandpa in The Arrowhead is modeled after my dad, and the little girl after my niece Madison. This is especially meaningful since the story is actually based on my dad’s story from when he was young. Children love meeting the “grandpa” from the story, and he’s been known to autograph books for them.
